I’m hitting the road and bringing the stories of t I’m hitting the road and bringing the stories of the West’s most remarkable women with me on the Women Who Refuse to Behave book tour.

From May 7 through May 25, I’ll be traveling across the country for more than a dozen speaking engagements, with stops in Fort Smith and Hot Springs, Arkansas; Claremore, Tulsa, and Guthrie, Oklahoma; and wrapping up in historic Deadwood, South Dakota.

Every stop is an opportunity to share the untold stories of the women who shaped the American West - outlaws and lawwomen, entertainers and entrepreneurs, survivors and trailblazers. These are the women history tried to forget…and the ones I never will.

If you’re along the route, I’d love to see you. There’s a lot of women’s history to share and I can’t wait to bring it to life.

According to Kate brings to life a powerful, intim According to Kate brings to life a powerful, intimate chapter from the later years of Kate Elder—better known as Big Nose Kate—as she reflects on the choices, loves, and losses that shaped her extraordinary life. Set in 1899 in the town of Cochise, Arizona, the film unfolds as Kate recounts her turbulent yet deeply devoted relationship with Doc Holliday, revisiting their time in Tombstone and the dangerous world they once inhabited.

Through her eyes, the legends of the West take on new meaning—less myth, more memory. Gunfights, loyalty, betrayal, and survival are all reframed through the voice of the woman who lived through it all.

The cast delivers exceptional performances across the board, led by Craig Hensley as Doc Holliday, Curt Lambert as Johnny Ringo, and Manuela Schneider as the incomparable Kate. Together, they bring depth, tension, and authenticity to every moment on screen.

Coming this summer.
Murder of a Nightingale Dora Hand slept soundly, Murder of a Nightingale

Dora Hand slept soundly, her auburn hair spilling across the pillow as the restless noise of Dodge City drifted through the night. Outside, laughter, music, and rough voices carried on as they always did in a town that never truly slept. Inside her small room, she remained undisturbed—accustomed to the chaos that defined the frontier.

Then, without warning, two bullets tore through the door.

One lodged in the wall. The other struck Dora beneath her arm, killing her instantly before she could cry out. In the distance, a horse’s hooves thundered away into the dark.

Blood spread across the white sheets as the clock beside her bed ticked on, indifferent. It was 4:30 a.m. on October 4, 1878. The moonlight bore silent witness to the passing of the thirty-four-year-old woman once known as the “nightingale of the frontier.”

Just the night before, Dora had stood on stage at the Alhambra Saloon, captivating audiences with her voice and beauty. From Abilene to Austin, she had been adored—so much so that men often fought over the privilege of escorting her home.

Newspapers claimed she inspired more gunfights than any woman in the West.
Her voice had filled the night. Now, it was gone.
