According to Kate was screened last night in the new private event space at the historic Friar Tuck’s in Nevada City, California, and the evening could not have been more memorable.
Watching the film for the first time with an audience, I was deeply moved by the brilliant performances of Manuela Schneider, Curt Lambert, and Craig Hensley. The extraordinary work of the behind-the-scenes crew was equally impressive, from the camera work and sound to the costumes and the remarkable setting of Mescal, Arizona, the famous Western movie location.
The audience laughed at some of the dialogue, and during the final scene between Kate Elder and Doc Holliday, you could have heard a pin drop. Afterward, audience members were highly complimentary of the talent and dedication that went into making the film. The response was so overwhelming that some quickly offered to help produce our next project.
According to Kate is currently making the film festival rounds and will make its official Tombstone debut on Saturday, October 17, at the historic Tombstone Courthouse. The event is sold out, but a waiting list is available.
